Calicut University PhD Admission 2016

University of Calicut Kerala invites applications for entrance examination and direct admission to Phd Program (Doctor of Philosophy) for 2016 session.
Eligibility for University of Calicut PhD Admission 2016
PhD Program in a related subject in the faculty, applicants fulfilling the following criteria shall be treated as eligible:
(a) Persons who have passed PG Degree (Master Degree) Exam with at least 50% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average of this University or an equivalent degree recognized by University of Calicut.
Relaxations for minimum marks are applicable to reserved category students (or) Persons working in National Laboratories- Institutes/Universities/Govt./Private Organization nominated/sponsored by the respective employer. These persons should have a PG degree with 50% marks, and holding a permanent position there.
(b) Above-mentioned rules will also be applicable to the foreign applicants who have obtained a Masters Degree from the statutory Indian Universities or equivalent degree from abroad.
(c) Teachers of the Colleges, Aided or Govt., affiliated to the University, Secondary & Higher Sec. Teachers.
(d) Percentage of marks for foreign applicants (those who have not obtained Master’s degree from Indian Universities) will be 50% or equivalent GPA.
(e) Applicants belonging to SC/ST category and those having 40% or more physical disability, require only a pass in the qualifying PG degree exam.

Entrance Test

Research Departments may conduct the entrance test.
All the applicants getting a minimum of 50% marks in the entrance test are qualified to apply and; a minimum of 35% marks in the entrance test is required in the case of SC/ST applicants to the seats reserved for them (subject to availability of seats).

How to Apply?

The prescribed application form for Entrance Exam / PhD Program can be downloaded from the University websitewww.uoc.ac.in from December 11th 2015 midnight.
Please see the link ‘fee remittance’ in the Admission Website www.cuonline.ac.in or the link ‘instant web payment system’ in the Official Website of the University www.universityofcalicut.info for remitting fee and submitting online application.
The Application and Entrance Exam Fee of Rs.550/- (SC/ST Rs.220/) shall be remitted to Calicut University Fund (Select the purpose “Application and Entrance Exam Fee for PhD Admission 2016“) by e-payment (SBT online/SBT e-chalan/Friends/Akshaya e-chalan). In the prescribed format along with a chalan of Rs.50/-.
The print-out of the application duly attested by a gazetted officer along with e-challan receipt of Rs.550/- (Rs.220/- for SC/ST applicants) towards Application & Exam Fee (SC/ST applicants shall also attach a copy of the community certificate along with application) must reach the Head of the University Teaching Depts. Concerned on or before December 15th 2015 (05.00 pm).
