IIT – Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur has recently release the PhD and MS (Research) admission notification for the session going to start from December 2015. All the interested and eligible candidates can now apply for this before the closing date. here on this page, we have collected all the mandatory details and important dates regarding this MS (Research) and PhD Programmes at IIT Kanpur.

Admission will be provided in the following departments
PhD (Engineering)- Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering and Technology, Photonics Science and Engineering, Industrial & Management Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Biological Sciences & Bio-Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Earth Sciences, Electrical Engineering

PhD (Sciences)- Chemistry, Mathematics & Statistics and Physics

PhD (Humanities & Social Sciences)- Sociology, Fine Arts, Psychology, English, (Literature and Linguistics), Philosophy

MS (Research)- Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Candidates who have done B.Tech from Centrally Funded Technical Institutes with minimum CPI of 7.5 or candidates who have done M.Sc with the minimum CPI of 7.0 are eligible to get admission in PhD without even showing the GATE score card.
Candidates who are appearing the final year, they are also eligible for the same.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

The application forms should be submitted via post as there is no online mode is applicable. You can download the application form from the site www.iitk.ac.in. Candidates who want to take admission in PhD, they must submit two letters of reference letters too. It should be sent along with the application form.

APPLICATION FORM

The application fee is for Rs. 400/- for the candidates belong to General and OBC category and candidates who belong to reserved category such as SC/ST, they need to pay Rs. 200/-. The payment should be done via demand draft in the favor of “The Registrar”, IIT Kanpur that should be payable at Kanpur.

IMPORTANT DATES

Deadline for getting the application receipt via post – 17th November 2015
The course will be started from – 26th December 2015
