INFORMATION TO CANDIDATES
I.Admissions will be made to Full Time /External Ph.D./M.Phil. /M.S. Research Programmes offered
by the J.N.T. University Anantapur, Ananthapuramu in the following faculties:
a)Ph.D :
Civil
EEE
Mech. Engg.
ECE
CSE
Chemical
Pharmacy
Mathematics
Chemistry
Physics
Bio-Tech.
Food-Tech.
Management
English
b)M.Phil. : Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English : 5 seats in each discipline
C) M.S. : Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics &
Communications Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Chemical Engineering:
5 seats in each discipline
The above seats are indicative only. The seats are likely to vary depending on suitability of
candidates and the supervisor’s interests.
Full Time:
The full time courses are offered at the research centers recognized by the University only as notified above.
The centers are required to provide all the necessary facilities to the admitted candidates. The candidates
have to stay at the center for the period of the research and are not allowed to take up any teaching or other
jobs.
All other eligibility, supervisors, course work , admission and fee are same as for external candidates.
VIII. MODE OF SELECTION:
Final selection will be based on entrance test and / or interview. The eligible candidates must
appear for one hour entrance test to be conducted by the University at ANANTHAPURAMU at
their own cost. The Entrance Test shall be objective type with 60 questions for 60 marks. The date
and time of the entrance Test to be conducted at JNTUA College of Engineering Anantapur will be
intimated to the eligible candidates and details will be displayed in JNTUA Ananthapuramu website
www.jntua.ac.in. The syllabi of entrance examination for various disciplines can be downloaded
from the web site. Hall Tickets will be sent to the e-mail ids of the candidates two days prior to the
Entrance Test.
The candidates who are qualified in UGC/CSIR(JRF) Examination/NET/SLET/ SET/Valid
GATE/Valid GPAT or who possesses relevant M.Phil.( in case of applying for Ph.D.) need not
appear for the Entrance examination. However, they shall attend the interview on the specified date
which will be intimated to them. Candidates who have obtained M.Phil. degree by distance mode
are not eligible for this exemption.
